Our journey began fifteen years ago around a worn kitchen table in the Cotswolds, over countless cups of Earl Grey and a shared conversation between two close friends. Back then, in our late thirties, balancing busy family lives and work, we were constantly searching for clothing that combined practical comfort with effortless style—and continually coming up empty-handed.

As the years unfolded, we watched the high street change, but not for the better. By the time we crossed into our fifties, the divide had become impossible to ignore: fashion had shifted almost entirely to fleeting fads made for twenty-somethings in flimsy fabrics, while the options for women our age felt dull, uninspired, and completely devoid of personality. We simply refused to believe that growing older meant fading into the background.

What began in 2011 as a modest passion project naturally evolved into the true heart of Susan & Claire: celebrating women who are navigating the very same chapters of life as us.
